Taitung's geological environment is located in an area of frequent plate tectonic activity, resulting in highly developed geothermal hot springs, with the water primarily being carbonated. Jinlun Hot Springs, located in the lower reaches of Jinlun Creek in Taimali Township, is a renowned wild stream hot spring in the area. Its weakly alkaline, colorless, and transparent carbonated water has a slight sulfur odor. Due to its abundant springs, it has long been a traditional open-air hot spring resort for the Paiwan people.

Jinzhen Mountain, located in Taimali, is a well-known scenic spot for viewing flowers.
